Are The Big Names The Only Ones That Can Get News Interviews?

When thinking about the most successful organizations in your industry, perhaps you see them in the news regularly, hear their commercials or see their billboards. But, have you ever thought, how did they get there? Can I achieve news coverage even if I’m smaller of a brand?

The simple answer is an absolute yes. Now, the part that takes more elaboration is how.

If you’re thinking, ‘I’d like to be on my local news, but I don’t know how,’ we’re here to discuss this further.  Just because an organization has a considerable footprint or brand name doesn’t mean they automatically get news coverage more efficiently. We can guarantee that local news producers or editors don’t typically care about the organization’s size (unless the story concerns business growth or an industry disruption). Instead, local media personnel are looking more for interesting content or stories.

We want to pause here and define local news, in case that’s also helpful. Local news refers to your city, town, or regional area’s news, TV stations, radio stations, newspapers, or blogs. You see this when you turn on your local 5 o’clock news or check out your weather. Local news is a coveted area for many as that is how they reach and GROW their clientele or customers.

The media is interested in something other than featuring organizations on their websites, socials, magazines, or podcasts, for example, just because they’re a big name.

They’re interested in the story. They want to report on how organizations are impacting the lives of others.

Your organization can be on the local news regardless of size or industry.

We’re here to help you accomplish this!
