Three super smart and easy tips for going back to school and helping your business growth.

August is here and for many of your clients, it’s also back to school with their families. Usually this time of year brings a growth spurt in company revenues as people are no longer on summer break. From a public relations and marketing perspective, this can be a very exciting time to explore some new strategies for your business.

From Pokémon Go lures to getting involved with charitable efforts for local schools, there are many things your business can do to make a successful back to school impact.

Get smart and start early. Whether your business is geared toward the public or B2B, there’s no reason you can’t be maximizing the back to school message and starting early with promotions, themes, and messages to help your business take action. Perhaps there is a special discount, bundle promotion, or a neat way to give back to each person who does business with you. Families might be looking for deals as they are already spending money on supplies, clothes, etc. Even if they don’t have children, often people have spent a bit more on travel and food over the summer.

Time to communicate. Maybe this summer you’ve also taken a break from communicating to your client base, but now is the perfect time to reengage. Start with a survey about your business, social posts that engage conversation as well as eblast correspondence. Make sure you’re opening the door to communication.

Go back to school. Local schools are often in need of school supplies and other resources. We often hear the ambiguous need for this but are not sure what to do as a business. Recently, one of our clients, GTE Financial, participated in a back to school supplies drive and delivered more than 30 back packs with supplies to local schools. These supplies were donated by their very own employees. This makes a great impact on the community, employee relations and customer relations.

Start thinking ahead, too. If you haven’t already, start thinking about the months beyond back to school. Develop a plan with goals of where you’d like your business to be each month leading to the remainder of the year.

Most of all, have fun! That’s what we do at nspr and it truly shows. Our clients get engaged, are hands-on, and are constantly communicating with their audience and it shows.

Too busy to do it yourself – no worries. Give us a shout anytime for us to pick up the pace for your business.
