YouTube has changed its M.O. and has taken a step back from the videos and switched to audio. Wait…what? Yes! You read that right. YouTube is jumping on the podcast train! They will be taking a deep dive into how they became a popular social site and how people turned their funny videos into their full-time jobs.
Up next, one of our favorites! Instagram! This platform is taking a tip out of Yelp’s playbook by soon launching a new and improved mapping page! They are hoping this new discovery tool will help people find new restaurants and local businesses near them. When clicking on the map, a scrapbook of tagged photos will be shown, providing first-hand insight into the trendiest (and most Instagramable) spots! This serves as a win-win for users to get all the local insights, as well as providing businesses with more exposure.
Not only will Instagram be adding this impressive new feature, but they will be launching a new way to make reels more user-friendly! Soon you will be able to collect all of your most recent stories and turn them into a post-able reel! I don’t know about you, but this REELy excites us. Sorry, we had to. *insert rolling eyes emoji*
And now on to the most trending social app—TikTok! Alexa, play anything Olivia Rodrigo, because we are in our feels. TikTok is aiming to help users with their mental health by providing services and assistance to make sure they are creating a healthy and positive space for creators! We love when apps that have such an impact on people’s lives take responsibility to make sure their users are safe!
Now, last but not least, we can’t talk about social media without memes. Whether you’re a Kardashian fan or not, there’s no way you missed Kim K’s Met Gala outfit. People have taken the photo of her talking with her sister Kendall and RAN with it. If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely look. It will be sure to make you laugh this morning.
Check back in with us next week for your daily dose of social media trends next Thursday! Who knows what could take the internet by storm next!
