14 Oct Will Instagram Help Your Business With This Feature? Is Squid Game The New ‘Thing’?
By: Jess Stein, Social Media & Account Executive
It’s Thursday—our favorite day of the week! Time to get SOCIAL!
If you are a PR or social media pro, you know the importance of scheduling tools. How would we survive without them?! Well, Instagram must feel the same because they are helping both viewers and content creators with a new feature that will allow people to schedule their live streams! This is Instagram’s latest effort to bring more engagement, reach and views to their users. We LIVE for this—bad pun, let’s move on.
Facebook, Facebook, Facebook. We meet again. After the tornado of controversy swept over this social channel recently, they have come forward and said they are addressing the concerns of teen usage and are open to sharing their news feed algorithm insights. We will be sending our thoughts to Mark Zuckerberg’s PR team as they clock those overtime hours.
Onto the better news of Facebook, they are looking to add some holiday cheer with new shopping events! This year they are featuring live shopping and putting together a campaign called “#BuyBlack” to feature black business owners. So, skipping the holiday mall traffic and supporting people of color? Ok, Facebook, you got us. We’ll be there.
Next up is Twitter, our usually innocent child who always gets straight A’s and is never included in any drama with the other kids (Instagram and Facebook)! Twitter will soon allow you to post numerous links, and each link will generate a headline and landing page in a carousel-like form. Why do we think this is ground-breaking? Does anyone else think this could be beneficial to their personal/business accounts?
And last but not least, our ghost friend Snapchat. Did you know they will start brand partnerships and monetizing content to grow their relationships with influencers? Influencers have officially taken over the social sphere! Excuse us while we sit back and wish our dog selfies could bring us in the dough.
As for trending news, I hate to sound like a broken record, but Squid Game is literally everywhere. Does anyone else not get it? Do we just need to get through the first episode? Is it one of those shows? Ugh, either way, we love the memes the show has been generating and are thankful for the laughs. Could your business tap into this too?
Well, that’s all I have for this week! Leave us a comment if you think this could be the start of Facebook’s downfall or if Mark Zuckerberg can’t be broken. (Maybe because he’s a robot? Just kidding… right?)
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
