Time for your social media shutdown, I mean run-down!
Instagram and Facebook are back in the negative spotlight AGAIN! I know we don’t need to tell you because there’s absolutely no way you didn’t try refreshing your social feeds ten million times last Monday, but Facebook and Instagram were down for almost six hours. *Prayers to the people who posted right before blackout!* How was your business impacted?
Many have been quick to post their conspiracies to the internet, saying it could have been because of the Facebook whistleblower’s 60 Minutes interview. Or maybe it was Instagram’s ploy to make us all realize how badly we need them and that we don’t care about all of the bad press? The theories are endless, juicy, and to be honest, none of them sound wrong! We’ll be sitting back with Twitter and TikTok watching to see how this all unfolds.
In better Insta news, they will now be throwing out IGTV’s and merging them into regular feed videos. Can we have a drumroll for the name of this new feature? Instagram videos. Yup, that’s it. Instagram, I’d like to thank you for making me feel like a creative genius.
OK, the drama is wearing us out—on to Snapchat! They are going against what many other social platforms have been doing and encouraging politics! IN A GOOD WAY—not what we’re all about to hear at our family Thanksgiving dinner tables! Don’t get it twisted. They are encouraging the younger generation to become more involved in political positions by showing job openings in their area. We are here for it!
Now last but not least, MEMES! There’s no way I couldn’t talk about that TikTok trending right now of the girl surprising her boyfriend and him giving no energy back. Red flag or was he just nervous? Either way, this has started a huge debate and giving tons of businesses room to get creative!
Not only is this relationship now a meme, but have you heard of Squid Game? It’s currently number one on Netflix right now and trending on all socials because of a scene of a guy cradled into a ball crying. Which…same.
Well, that’s all I got! How will your business use this info? Tell us here! Talk to you all again next week. Until then, we will be binging Squid Game and crossing our fingers Instagram and Facebook won’t give out on us again.
