Mid-year Evaluations to Put You Back on Track

We are midway through the year and it seems nearly impossible that time is passing by so quickly. You may have planned to grow your business by launching a new product or gaining new subscribers, but you haven’t had time to execute any of those good-intentioned initiatives you put on paper. Well, as we usher in the second part of the year, you may want to evaluate where you are and where you want to go from here.

If you’re not hitting the numbers you’d hoped for or reached the goals you’ve set, fortunately, there’s enough time to analyze the path you’ve been on and chart a new course to carry you through 2016. It’s not too late to implement a strategic marketing plan that can guide you to success.

Evaluate Your Progress

To know where you’re going, it’s important to know where you’ve been. Evaluate the progress you’ve made so far, as well as what worked and what didn’t work. Calculate your return on investment, and determine if you should eliminate some of the campaigns that had little return from your calendar. Careful analysis of the results is crucial to successful marketing for the remainder of the year.

Put Your Money Where It Counts

Once you’ve analyzed and understood the findings, apply it to your marketing efforts. Drop the losers and focus on the winners. Also, identify what needs to be added to your marketing activities. Does your plan include a digital campaign or public relations? If not, perhaps it should. In this digital age, using a multitude of media channels is a must to reach your targeted consumer. List at least three ideas to implement and prepare to invest in them.

Test New Activities

If your efforts drive consumers to join, register or purchase a product on your website, make sure the site looks and feels professional. If you’re still not converting memberships or sales, consider adding online remarketing activities. It’s a clever way to connect with visitors who may not have made an immediate purchase or inquiry. It also allows you to position targeted ads in front of a defined audience that had previously visited your website as they browse elsewhere around the Internet. Of course, social media is also an effective method for reaching your target audience. It costs virtually nothing (except time) to connect and engage your audience via Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Update Your Website

This is an easy one but many businesses wait too long to update their website. Now is your time. Checkups require check-ins. The key to success is accountability. Schedule check-in dates on your calendar to re-evaluate your initiatives each month. Chances are regular maintenance and diligence will mean your business is back on track and you’ll be eager to plan where you want your business to go next. If you need additional guidance along the way, we can help. We’re really good and just a phone call away.
